On the road to Ubud

We left Villa Balquisse at 1 pm to head off to our new home in Ubud.  It was our first chance to see Bali outside of the purely tourist areas.

There was an entire village devoted to stone carving, with one building after another displaying large inventories of sculpture

  1. Great being able to see photos you are posting, Nat. (I note you have competition from a young photographer with a keen eye!)

    Villa Balquisse looks stylish indeed.
Looking forward to seeing your digs in Ubud.
Keep the posts coming .... ~~ xx

  2. Wow. If these photos are representative, everywhere you look is a visual reminder that you are in another culture and a different part of the world. Beautiful!

  3. The Balinese are notorious for trying to fool foreigners into thinking that the stone carvings are actually very quiet, stationary townsfolk. Don't be fooled!
